CATHAY PACIFIC ANNOUNCES PLANS TO FLY DAILY FROM PHNOM PENH STARTING OCTOBER 2024

Hong Kong’s home carrier is planning daily flights from Cambodia’s capital to Hong Kong, providing more connections to the wider Cathay Pacific network in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas

PHNOM PENH: Cathay Pacific is pleased to announce its plans to increase its passenger flights between Phnom Penh, the capital and financial centre of Cambodia, and its home hub, Hong Kong, from five day per week to daily starting 27 October 2024. This is a key milestone in the Cathay Group’s commitment to strengthen its network in South East Asia, further enhancing connectivity, trade and cultural exchange between Hong Kong and ASEAN countries.

Cathay Pacific signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cambodia Airports to boost connectivity between Cambodia and Hong Kong. The MoU was signed by Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Mr Ronald Lam and Cambodia Airports Chief Executive Officer Mr Cyril Girot in Phnom Penh, as part of a six-day business delegation to Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam led by Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, Mr John Lee Ka-chiu.

Chief Executive Officer Mr Ronald Lam said as Cambodia’s economy continues to grow from strength to strength, we are delighted to be increasing our frequencies between Phnom Penh and Hong Kong. This will allow more options and convenience for our customers from Cambodia to fly to Hong Kong and our extended network in the Chinese Mainland, North East Asia, Europe and the Americas.

“We appreciate the support of the Cambodian authorities in facilitating the growth of our operations in Phnom Penh. Our latest plans to add services from Cambodia are part of the Cathay Group’s efforts to develop flight services connecting Hong Kong with ASEAN countries, as we look ahead to the full operation of the Three-Runway System at Hong Kong International Airport.”
