JAPAN PROVIDES 38,750 US DOLLARS FOR THE PROVISION OF TRADITIONAL INSTRUMENTS AT SECONDARY SCHOOL OF FINE ARTS

PHNOM PENH: The press release on 20th March 2024 The Government of Japan will provide 38,750 US dollars for a recipient organisation under the framework, of the Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects “KUSANONE”. The Grant Contract was signed today between H.E. Mr. UENO Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the representative of the recipient, to carry out the following project.

Japan Provides 38,750 US dollars for the Provision of Traditional Instruments at Secondary School of Fine ArtsThe Project for the Improvement of Traditional Instruments at the Secondary School of Fine Arts. This grant will be used to install 15 kinds of 24 Khmer traditional musical instruments at the Secondary School of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh. Due to the lack of traditional musical instruments, the Secondary School of Fine Arts has been facing challenges to foster new generations who can play them. After the implementation of this project, it is expected that teachers and students will have more chances to perform and practice these Khmer traditional musical instruments and will be able to expand and treasure the Khmer culture.
