THE U.S. EMBASSY KHMER NEW YEAR VIDEO CELEBRATES HARDWORKING CAMBODIANS

PHNOM PENH: The U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh extends its best wishes to the Cambodian people for the Khmer New Year!  To commemorate the holiday, the Embassy is pleased to release and share its annual Khmer New Year video, this year celebrating Cambodian workers and farmers, a successful harvest, and a season of renewal and blessings.

The 2023 Khmer New Year video features U.S. Ambassador to Cambodia W. Patrick Murphy and Embassy personnel and tells a story of transition, humility, and respect for the everyday, hardworking people of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

He expresses admiration for clever Cambodian workers and, with fellow Rabbits, accepts a challenge to try some of the work that Cambodians do on a daily basis. The group finds that Rabbits might not be so clever after all, but they can readily join all Cambodians in celebrating Khmer New Year traditions.
