PHNOM PENH: On 3 November, the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan announced the recipients of the 2022 Autumn Conferment of Decorations to be bestowed upon individuals of merit in recognition of their national or public services, and in honor of their distinguished accomplishments in various areas in society.
On H.E. Mr. Pit Chamnan, Permanent Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and Former Rector of the Royal University of Phnom Penh, the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon will be conferred in recognition of his contribution to the promotion of academic exchanges and mutual understanding between Japan and the Kingdom of Cambodia in the field of education, especially support for Japanese language education.
In relation to the Embassy of Japan, H.E. Mr. Pit Chamnan contributed to the education of the Embassy’s diplomats who are Khmer language experts by providing them with a homestay program and other occasions to deepen their understanding of Cambodian society and culture.
