Phnom Penh: On behalf of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Embassy of India, Phnom Penh in association with the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR & D) is organizing an e-Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) training program on Cyber Security, Digital Forensics and Cyber Crime Investigation for 13 Law Enforcement officers/successor Police Instructors of Police Academy of Cambodia (PAC) from 25th January 2022 to 24th February 2022. BPR & D is organizing this course jointly with Central Detective Training institutes (CDTIs) Chandigarh & Hyderabad and Central Academy for Police Training (CAPT), Bhopal.
BPR & D has earlier conducted a customized e-ITEC course on “Counter-Terrorism” and “Cyber Security” for 26 Ph.D. Police officials of Police Academy of Cambodia that commenced on 28th September 2021 and concluded on 14th December 2021, with CDTIs Ghaziabad & Hyderabad.
ITEC scheme is a flagship program of Government of India under the aegis of South-South cooperation that has been offering capacity-building assistance to 161 partner countries for last 55 years.
The ITEC program is based on solidarity and mutual respect, voluntary cooperation free from any conditionalities, national ownership and aligned with priorities of partner countries. It is demand-driven and response-oriented.
Under the ITEC Program, several government officials and working professionals have visited India for short term training courses. since the commencement of ITEC program in Cambodia, nearly 2200 Cambodian nationals have been imparted training under various courses.
Ambassador in her inaugural remarks stated that ITEC program had been instituted by the Government of India for the development of India’s relationship with other developing countries on the basis of cooperation and partnership for mutual benefit. Embassy of India in consultation with the Cambodian Government have worked out many customized courses, suited for their officials in their functioning. Ambassador also stated that the Cambodian Government authorities have widely appreciated important role of ITEC program in their functioning working.
This year Embassy of India, Phnom Penh conducted 13 customized courses for nearly 350 Cambodian officials from various Ministries viz. Ministry of Education, Youth &Sport, Senate, Ministry of Public works & Transport, Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance authority, Ministry of Rural Development, M/o Environment etc. in the areas of (Give the name of courses).
The online inaugural ceremony of the program was held on 25th January 2022 and graced by Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Mr. Balaji Srivastava, Director General, BPR &D, Major General Kimsan Eng, Vice President, PAC, Dr. Devyani Khobragade, Ambassador of India to Cambodia and other officials from Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, BPR& D.
