In collaboration with World Vision International-Cambodia, the Olympia Mall is organizing a Charity Fair called “Magical Christmas: A Fair for A Cause” to provide proper sanitation and clean, and accessible drinking water for 300 vulnerable children in Kampong Chhnang Province.
The event will take place at the fountain area of The Olympia Mall on the 24th and 31st December. It will include stalls selling an array of unique Christmas gifts focused on proper sanitation, clean water, the education sector, and live performances by some of Cambodia’s best artists.
Ms. Lychin Lim, Director of Mega Asset Management, believed in investing in Cambodia’s long-term growth and ensuring that by providing and giving back to the people and children and helping them in what they essentially need the most.
Ms. Lychin Lim, the Director of Mega Asset Management said, “We yearn to inspire everyone that we all play an increasingly critical role to be a force for goodwill to our community. Our Olympia Mall is delighted to be a part of “Magical Christmas: A Fair for A Cause” to support and raise funds for World Visions’ goal of providing clean and safe drinking water access in communities and homes across Cambodia; through its Clean Water Project.”
Mr. Nong Davith, Senior Specialist for WASH: Water and Sanitation at World Vision, said that the WASH program goal is to ensure the increment of healthy and well-nourished children so that families can have access to safe drinking water.
“The fund from the collaboration with The Olympia Mall will be used to provide a borehole to A’ Leng primary school at Kampong Chhnang. World Vision Assessment has shown that a total of 391 students (197 school girls) and 15 teachers have no water supply for drinking, washing, and also for latrine purposes. We need action from everyone to help and safeguard the development of the children.”
The Mall is also organizing several activities throughout the entire month of December to possibly raise more funds such as “Challenge for a Cause” on December 25th, “Tree of Luck” on December 1st to 25th, and “Letter to Santa” on December 24th and 25th.
Mr. Chi Saing, General Manager of The Olympia Mall said, “We call upon everyone who wants to be part of this campaign to support in any way possible — it can be in form of funds, booth rental, or any in-kind donations. Donation boxes will be displayed at the Mall’s Information Center and 100% of the profit from booth rental will be donated to World Vision International.”
