Mongolia – Covid vaccine to be highly demanded

Vaccination centers in Ulaanbaatar witnessed a remarkable interest by citizens to receive the Covid vaccine. There are a total of 120 vaccination center in the capital city, of which 40 are mobile, and about 60,000 people are vaccinated daily, about a total of 811,452 people have received the first dose of vaccines, equal to 39.3% of the nationwide vaccination target, also, 327,210 people have gotten their second does. The Ministry of Health has set a goal to vaccinate the entire population of Ulaanbaatar in the first dose by May 10, 2021, and the second dose by June 10, 2021.

Baatar the Citizen said “It’s been 21 days since I got the first dose of the vaccine, and now I’m waiting in line to get the second dose. My first vaccine shot was from Sinopharm, China. There were no symptoms or reactions after vaccination. I heard that immunization will occur in 14 days after the second shot.”

Dorj a Citizen also said “I have just received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. If I had received the first dose early, It would have been very helpful. I think the vaccination is a bit late. I will take my second dose on May 24, 2021.”

Jargalmaa a Doctor said, “In the capital city, it is planned to vaccinate all citizens in the first dose by May 10, 2021, and the second dose by June 10, 2021. There are 120 vaccination centers and of which 40 are mobile in Ulaanbaatar. I have started to work in this vaccination center on April 23, 2021, and as of April 27, 2020, about 4,800 people have been vaccinated here. Citizens are very actively involved in vaccination. People who are far away from the vaccination center are being transported by two buses.”
