Phnom Penh: Based on Press Release No. 63 PR-19/EoJ. 9 Cambodian high school students and 1 supervisor are going to visit Japan from 1st to 9th of December 2019 at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan under JENESYS (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youth) 2019.
The students are the winners of the primary in-country contest for the “Asian International Children’s Film Festival 2019”, which was held on the 16th of September 2019, Three of the winners are from Phnom Penh. The other six students and a supervisor are from Preah Monivong High School in Battambang Province.
The three films produced by the students were nominated for the festival’s final contest to be held on 7th of December in Minami-Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture. The students will join the contest to present their work in-person.
During their visit, they will also have opportunities to take part in a city tour and school exchange programs. The detailed schedule is attached herewith.
JENESYS aims to promote mutual trust and understanding among the people of Japan with participating countries and regions, and to build a basis for future friendship and cooperation. Through the program, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited more than 2,100 Cambodian youths since 2007.
It is expected that the participants will deepen their understanding of Japan and after coming back, share their experience widely with the people in Cambodia.
