This event served three important priorities for the Himawari in alignment with it’s visionary leadership towards a healthier, more prosperous Cambodia. First, to express thanks to their clients for their continuing patronage and support. Second, to reveal their newly redesigned rooms that will make their clients’ short or long-term stays even more enjoyable. Third, to raise funds for St. John Phnom Penh. A non-profit organization committed to improving the health and well-being of the Cambodia people through the teaching of first aid, performing public duties and providing humanitarian aid throughout Cambodia.

The night had a Singapore theme which helped to express the Himawari’s appreciation for their clients’ strong support and their continuing commitment to build long-lasting partnerships with their clients. Their support has made the hotel thrive for the last 18 years of operation since it officially opened on 20th of June 2001. The night’s Singapore theme was expressed through performances, decorations, food, and staff dress costumes.

This year the Himawari Hotel Apartments completed the room refurbishments for the Himawari Suites and Himawari Two Bedroom Executives. They transformed the accommodations into brand new, 2 color concepts, White theme and Gray theme. The newly renovated rooms blend together the traditional with the modern into
two color concepts, white theme and gray theme.

Our focus was to capture the modern trend and atmosphere of Phnom Penh while also remembering and honoring Cambodia’s traditional styles in architecture and art. We dedicated particular attention to the natural beauty of Cambodia’s flowers, i.e. Chan Flower. The design of our rooms with the river view from the balcony offers a touch of contemporary luxury in the center of Phnom Penh City. The new style of our Executive Premium Room was designed ideally for both business and leisure travelers. As a premier fully equipped service apartment, it is spacious and has all your daily living essentials and modern conveniences; the comfort of home away from home.

The Himawari Hotel Apartments was awarded a CSR Recognition Award by the Singapore Compact for Corporate Social Responsibility (now Global Compact Network Singapore). As part of their support, their guest appreciation night is hosting an Art Foo Exhibition “Singapore Love For Cambodia.” 100% of the proceeds will be donated to St. John Phnom Penh, a non-governmental youth voluntary organisation specializing in providing first aid and home nursing training. The paintings are donated by Foo Kwee Horng (Art Foo). Art Foo is a respected artist who painted “Dancing in the land of snow.” It was commissioned by the MFA and presented to His Majesty King
Norodom Sihamoni in 2016.

Attendees included hotel and apartment residents, corporate leaders, embassy staff and Ambassadors, NGO, travel agency, government ministry and media. It was a delightful evening of great food, entertainment, and social networking, while raising funds to improve the Cambodian community.
