Phnom Penh: The French foreign trade advisors gathered on 6th and 7th of June 2019 in Phnom Penh for a regional ASEAN Forum. CEOs businessmen and women based in one or several ASEAN countries or interested in the region talked about business opportunities for French companies, discussed strategies, current issues and future prospects. This event was organized for the first time in Phnom Penh and was attended by more than 180 people.
Simultaneously, the French Ambassadors in the ten ASEAN countries met in Phnom Penh for the first time too. On the occasion of their annual workshop in order to exchange views on the political and economic evolutions in the region and France’s strategy with regards to ASEAN.
Representatives from the Ministry or Europe and Foreign Affairs as well as from the Ministry of Economy and Finance came from Paris to participate in these two events.
Mr. Thierry Mathou, Director for Asia & Oceania at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs came in this context to Phnom Penh for the second time (He first came in November 2017).
He had a meeting with His Excellency Mr. PRAK Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Co-operation in order to discuss the bilateral relationship between France and Cambodia.
Business people and Ambassadors met on Thursday, 6th of evening for a cocktail at the Residence of the French Ambassador in the presence of His Excellency Mr. PAN Sorasak, Minister of Commerce.
