Malaysians in Cambodia celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri

The Embassy of Malaysia in Phnom Penh together with the Malaysian community in Cambodia celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri at Dewan Malaysia – the hall in the Embassy – on Saturday. Hari Raya Aidilfitri, also known as Hari Raya Puasa, is celebrated at the end of Ramadan, the holy fasting month. It has become a norm that even Malaysian non-Muslims are invited to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri at receptions normally called Aidilfitri Open House or ‘Rumah Terbuka Aidilfitri’ where various kinds of Malay cuisine are served to the guests. The events promote unity and patriotism among Malaysians who come from different ethnicities and religions.
