Engly Tuy (Sakura): Mercadia Investment Consulting Co., Ltd (Cambodia) organised an event, Golden Residence Permit Programme – Global Citizen By Choice, at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra Phnom Penh on May 19. This is a Portuguese government programme that allows Cambodians to invest in Portugal and get residence cards as investors. They can also get residence cards for their spouses, children and parents. The programme allows participants to obtain Portugal/ EU residency in 6-8 months and they also have chance to get Portugal/ EU passport 6 years later. The applicants and their family members will also be able to live, study and work in 26 Schengen countries in Europe without visa requirements. There is no requirement on management experience, age, language and education for participants. Investors can receive back 100 percent of their investment after 5 years and get 4 percent interest annually.
