Malaysian princess enchanted by Khmer craft and silk

SAKURA ENGLY: Her Royal Highness Tunku Hajjah Azizah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Sultan Iskandar Shah, the Royal Consort of the Crown Prince of Pahang Darul Makmur, and her entourage were on a private visit to Cambodia, which included an audience with Her Majesty Norodom Monineath, the Queen Mother, at the Royal Palace.
The princess also visited the Maybank Silk Weaving Centre in Takeo as well as observing the local silk trade on Silk Island, just outside Phnom Penh. Her Royal Highness noted the similarity between Pahang and Cambodia and believes the silk industry could empower women in both nations. She ended her tour in Siem Reap before continuing on to Laos.
