SINGAPORE NATIONAL DAY EVENT JOINTLY ORGANISED BY SINGAPORE CLUB CAMBODIA AND PHILLIPBANK

Phnom Penh: Singapore celebrated her 60th birthday on 9 August 2025, Saturday, at The Factory Phnom Penh with the Shiok Sabay Festival. This inaugural event is jointly organized by Singapore Club Cambodia (SCC) and Phillipbank. It was a two-day festival of food, games, and activities for Singaporeans and all nationalities alike. As SCC celebrates its 32nd anniversary, they also launched the digital version of their commemorative book. The hard copy collection of stories, memories, and photos, which chronicle Singapore businesses and lives of Singaporeans in Cambodia, will be made available at the end of August 2025.

The event was attended by more than 750 people, with 18 food vendors and 8 of Phillipbank’s trade partners, including Singapore Medical Center. Sing-Specialists Medical Centre, Singmed, LSH Cambodia, Ford, Singapore Airlines, The Fullerton Clubhouse, and Himawari Microbrewery.

Singapore Club Cambodia and Phillipbank organised the Shiok Sabay Festival. Attendees feasted on an array of Singapore cuisine, from laksa to briyani and popiah and kaya toast to festival favorites such as tiramisu, bagels, and lok lok. The stage program had Singaporeans racking their brains to answer trivia and name some national songs. A jumping castle, stilt walkers, and a children’s art corner kept the young ones entertained. The event would not be complete without a lucky draw and the live broadcast of Singapore’s National Day parade.

This year also marks the 60th year of Cambodia–Singapore diplomatic relations. This event not only brought the Singaporean community in Cambodia together to celebrate a significant milestone, but the locals and international expats also came to share in the fun and joy and had the opportunity to explore and understand Singapore’s history and culture.

Singapore Club Cambodia hopes to promote a strong sense of belonging among Singaporeans living and working in Cambodia and to facilitate business connections and meaningful partnerships between both countries.
