PHNOM PENH: In a landmark event that promises to foster business and cultural exchanges between Cambodia and Singapore, the “Connect to Grow” forum was officially inaugurated on 26th April 2024. Under the magnificent umbrella of opportunities, this event stands as a testament to the burgeoning economic ties and shared visions between the two nations. The Guest of Honour, His Excellency Ung Molyvann, a representative from the Office of the Council of Ministers, presided over the ceremonious launch and vividly outlined Cambodia’s vast potential and welcoming business environment to foreign investors.
Organized meticulously by Mr. Dave Tan, Director at Asia Group Pte Ltd., Mr. Edmund Lai, Business Development Manager at DCSC Holdings Pte Ltd., and Mr. Andrew Tay, President of the SCC Cambodia (a Singapore Chamber and a community club) and Director at Himawari Hotel Apartments, the forum has successfully brought together over 26 distinguished business delegates from Singapore and 50 over local business associates. These delegates represent a broad spectrum of industries, including food, real estate, logistics, and wellness, indicative of the diverse opportunities available for collaboration.
In his opening address, His Excellency Ung Molyvann emphasized the importance of such international forums in strengthening people-to-people relations and economic ties, stating, “Strategic partnerships and joint ventures between Singapore and Cambodia are of key importance in terms of competitive advantage, widening business reach and economic strengthening.” The forum aims to provide an invaluable platform for dialogue, networking, and sharing best practices, thereby nurturing long-term partnerships that will contribute to Cambodia’s and Singapore’s economic growth.
The event featured interactive panel discussions, networking sessions, and workshops led by industry leaders and experts. It focused on topics such as the property market, banking sector, tourism, and exploring new investment opportunities in Cambodia’s rapidly growing market.
Highlighting the event’s significance, Mr. Andrew Tay commented, “This event represents a pivotal moment for us all as we embark on a journey of mutual growth, collaboration, and discovery within the vibrant economic landscape of Cambodia.”
