From 9th to 30th April to 1st May 2022, The USAID Cambodia Green Future Project organized a study tour for the crowd-sourced competition winners and other youth participants and Project partners, and a total of 17 participants, 12 females to BeTreed Adventures and Tabas community-based ecotourism, Phnom Thnout Wildlife Sanctuary, Sangkum Thmey district, Preah Vihear province.
Overall, the tour participants observed:
1. Type of luxury wood, and benefits of forests – wildlife shelter, forest resources for humans and animals.
2. Types of (wild) animals inhabiting the forests.
3. In addition, participants also had a chance to visit the local community to observe and learn more about local livelihood.
The study tour was made possible with collaboration and support from USAID Greening Prey Lang.
Youth participants are committed to sharing information and knowledge gained from the study tour with their family members, friends, and their networks with the joined effort to protect Cambodia’s natural resources, especially in reducing the demand for luxury wood furniture.
