It aims to introduce Japanese culture and tradition to Cambodian people and also strengthen the tourism connection between the two countries.

Leading off the “Japan Travel Fair” was H.E. MIKAMI Masahiro Ambassador of Embassy of Japan in Cambodia, who opened the two day event with his remarks.  H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia and attendance number of VIP guests were also in attendance. The fair was sponsored by AEON Mall Sen Sok City, All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd, World Pop Travel & Tour and other manufacturers of products from Japan. The event also showcased some activities such teaching guests to make chopsticks, make paper cranes, etc…

Japan Travel Fair took place the 7th and 8th of December and included many interesting activities such as a Japanese traditional drum performance, which was performed by Mekong Daiko Japanese team based in Phnom Penh. The participants also experienced a Japan Tour with virtual reality, which uses cutting-edge technology as well as Yukata trial and Origami class. The number of Cambodian tourists to Japan has been growing with an estimated 22,000 Cambodians in 2019, up from 3,000 in 2010.
