have learned of the death of Nuon Chea, former Chairman of the Democratic
Kampuchea People’s Assembly, who was on trial at the ECCC. We regret to see the
accused passing away before the end of the whole proceedings.

More than ever, it is urgent that every stakeholder of the ECCC fulfills its
responsibility so that the trial of the remaining co-accused proceed in a fair,
efficient and expeditious manner and that overdue justice be realized in Cambodia.
