កំឡុងពេលមហោស្រព មានភាពយន្តជាច្រើនប្រភេទ ត្រូវបានសម្រិតសម្រាំងសម្រាប់ការចាក់បញ្ចាំងនៅរោងភាពយន្តល្បីៗដូចដែលបានជម្រាបជូនខាងលើ។ ភាពយន្តទាំងនោះរួមមាន ភាពយន្តបែបមនោសញ្ចេតនា ស៊ើបអង្កេត គំនូរជីវចល វាយប្រាហារ និងកំប្លែងជាដើម។ ភាពយន្តដែលនឹងត្រូវចាក់បញ្ចាំងទាំងនេះ ឆ្លុះបញ្ចាំងអំពីជីវភាពរស់នៅរបស់ប្រជាជន សង្គម និងវប្បធម៌ជប៉ុន ហើយមហោស្រពនេះក៏ផ្តល់ឱកាសដ៏ល្អមួយសម្រាប់អ្នកទស្សនាអាចស្គាល់ពីប្រទេស និងប្រជាជនជប៉ុន។

During the Festival, Japanese films selected from a wide range of different categories will be screened at the above-mentioned major theaters. The selection includes drama, mystery, animation, action, and comedy. These films portray various aspects of Japanese life, society, and culture and will provide a good opportunity for the audience to familiarize themselves with Japan and its people.

The Tanabata Festival 2019 ceremony included a remark by Ambassador of Japan and representative of the Royal Government of Cambodia, as well as Japanese and Cambodian cultural performance.

Tanabata is a Japanese traditional event celebrated every year on 7 July in Japan to recall a story of a couple lovers in the heaven weaver princess and cowboy. Based on Tanabata’s story, the two lovers are separated by the Amanogawa River and allowed to meet once a year on 7th July. On the day, Japanese people write their wishes and hang on the bamboo tree to have their wishes granted.

This year’s festival will include more workshops and orientation such as related to animation and cosplay, short films competition and exchange program of JENESYS, Japanese movie show, cooking class, papers-related sessions “Origami” (Folding Papers), “Kirigami” (Cutting papers), and “Syo-do” (calligraphy), trial of traditional wear “Kben” and “Yukata”, trial of Japanese sport wear and challenge with “Kendo” and “Iaido”, and session for Khmer Archery as well as various exhibitions. The pamphlet with detailed program of the festival is attached herewith.

Another feature of the festival is eco-saving. From this festival goes on, three co-organizers will pay more attention to proper treatment and reduction of garbage, especially plastic garbage. During the event, we will encourage participants to throw garbage into proper trash bin separately as well as to reduce garbage by using reusable items like reusable bottle or eco-bag. Those efforts will include CJCC volunteer’s call, workshops and booth vender’s cooperation such as discount for reusable bottle users or not providing plastic bags or plastic straws.

This Contest will be conducted as a school competition. This year, 14 representative individuals or groups from 8 schools or universities will compete with each other in the contest.

The “NODOJIMAN” Japanese Song Contest has been held annually for the purpose of encouraging Japanese language learners to practice the language through singing songs. This contest also aims to strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between the people of Japan and Cambodia through Japanese songs.

On this significant occasion, the Embassy would like to invite Cambodian people who are interested to see and cheer our candidates. It is Free Admission.

Japanese Speech Contest is a special occasion for students of various Japanese schools
in Cambodia to showcase a wide range of brilliant speeches. This year, 15 candidates
were selected among 56 candidates to compete in the final round. This contest aims to
further promote the understanding of Japanese culture and language among the Cambodia
youth.

What is Japan-Cambodia Kizuna Festival?

Japan-Cambodia Kizuna Festival is an annual event co-organized by Embassy of Japan, Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center, and The Japan Foundation Asia Center since 2012 in the purpose of introducing traditional and modern culture of Japan and Cambodia and promote cultural exchange between people of the two counties. The event of this year will be held from February 21-24, 2019 under the theme of “Experience Together“.

The theme of this year’s festival is “Experience Together”. Under this theme, we will bring more experiences or activities for participants to join in the festival. All of the above-mentioned events will include activities in which participants can do together with artists. In addition, the festival will feature more workshops, such as face-painting of “Lkhon Bassacc”, workshop of the world heritage conservation by Japanese Government Team for Safeguarding Angkor, trial of traditional wear of “Chong Kban” and “Yukata”, Japanese cultural session for tea ceremony “Sa-do”, folding paper “Origami”, flower arrangement “Ikebana”, and calligraphy “Syo-do”, as well as other various activities. The pamphlet with the detailed program of the festival is attached herewith.

We recommend all participants to wear t-shirts or sportswear for joining activities and hope that through the activities, they feel closer to Japan and deepen their understanding of Cambodian and Japanese culture.
