Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in cooperation with BRICS House Organization Cambodia, officially launched the Cambodia Tourism Roadshow to Russia on 18 September 2026. The launching ceremony was held at the Ministry of Tourism in Phnom Penh, bringing together senior government officials, diplomatic representatives, tourism stakeholders, business leaders, private-sector partners and other distinguished guests, including H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Anatoly Borovik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Cambodia, as well as representatives of the Cambodian diplomatic mission in the Russian Federation.
This initiative aims to boost Russian tourism and investment in Cambodia by strengthening partnerships with Russian travel operators to promote the country’s cultural heritage, natural destinations, and hospitality. Key priorities include establishing direct air connectivity to facilitate smooth travel for tourists and business travellers, while opening doors for cross-border trade and investment that connect Cambodian businesses with Russia and the broader BRICS market.
In addition to tourism and investment, the cooperation will promote cultural exchanges between Cambodia and Russia, including theatre, cinema, artists, cultural performances and other creative activities. Sports exchanges are also being encouraged, including cooperation and exchanges between Russian and Cambodian professional sports teams, athletes and sporting organisations.
During the ceremony, Mr Vladimir Palancica, President of the BRICS House Organization Cambodia, delivered remarks on the initiative. Ms Khek Khemrath, Vice President of the BRICS House Organization Cambodia, also participated in the event and contributed to the development of the organisation’s private-sector and investment cooperation activities. The programme featured remarks from H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Anatoly Borovik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Cambodia, together with representatives of the Cambodian diplomatic mission in Russia. The programme also featured video presentations highlighting Cambodia’s tourism potential and BRICS cooperation.
The event concluded with the presentation of souvenir gifts to H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Anatoly Borovik, Ambassador of the Russian Federation, followed by a group photo and a business networking session among participating stakeholders.
As part of the initiative’s follow-up activities, Mr Vladimir Palancica, President of BRICS House Organization Cambodia, and Ms Khek Khemrath, Vice President of BRICS House Organization Cambodia, who are also local business partners engaged in investment and business development activities in Cambodia, subsequently travelled to Pailin Province to explore the province’s tourism, business and investment potential. During their visit, they were warmly received by the provincial governor and were introduced to the province’s development opportunities and potential areas for investment and cooperation. Their visit demonstrated the continued efforts of the BRICS House leadership and its local partners to identify investment opportunities, strengthen cooperation with provincial authorities, and connect potential international investors with investment opportunities in Cambodia.
Recently, Mr Vladimir Palancica also travelled to Thailand to present and discuss Cambodia’s potential with Russian business communities and investors based there. During the visit, he highlighted Cambodia’s development and potential in line with the Royal Government of Cambodia’s goals of attracting foreign investment, promoting tourism, and expanding economic relations with international markets.
As both have business operations based in Cambodia and established networks with international partners, they aim to continue serving as a bridge between Cambodia and the international business community, particularly the Russian market, by promoting Cambodia’s potential and creating new opportunities for investment and cooperation. With their experience and networks, Mr Vladimir Palancica and Ms Khek Khemrath aim to continue these efforts to bring more international businesspeople, investors, and tourists to Cambodia, while creating new economic opportunities for the country and its people.
The Cambodia Tourism Roadshow to Russia marks the beginning of a broader effort by the Ministry of Tourism and BRICS House Organization Cambodia to build stronger and more practical connections between Cambodia and Russia across tourism, aviation, investment, trade, culture, sports and people-to-people exchange.
