Phnom Penh: July 4, 2026 – Healthcare professionals, policymakers, innovators, researchers, and industry leaders gathered at the Medi-Hub Summit 2026 at Himawari Hotel Apartments to explore the future of healthcare through innovation, digital transformation, and cross-sector collaboration.
Hosted by SHINKAI Group Singapore and Shin Urban Events Cambodia, in collaboration with strategic business partners, this year’s summit was held under the theme “Explore the Future of Healthcare Innovations & Wellness in Cambodia, Southeast Asia & More”.
The summit served as a regional platform for dialogue on emerging healthcare technologies, medical research, public health, artificial intelligence, digital health, wellness, and sustainable healthcare systems. Throughout the day, distinguished speakers shared insights into the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape while emphasising the importance of stronger collaboration among governments, healthcare providers, academia, investors, and the private sector to improve health outcomes across the region.
According to Eliza Yukiko Wong, Managing Director of SHINKAI Group Singapore and Shin Urban Events Cambodia, one of the primary objectives of the Medi-Hub Summit 2026 is to attract greater foreign direct investment (FDI) into Cambodia by creating opportunities for joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and long-term business collaboration across the healthcare sector.
“Medical technology is advancing rapidly every year, alongside the remarkable growth of artificial intelligence. Through the Medi-Hub Summit, we aim to showcase these innovations while positioning Cambodia as an emerging destination for healthcare innovation, investment, and regional collaboration,” Eliza Yukiko Wong said.
A key highlight of this year’s summit was the wellness sector. Many participating brands have already established strong market success in Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam but have yet to enter Cambodia. The summit introduced these innovative companies to the Cambodian market, providing opportunities to explore partnerships, showcase products and services, and establish a meaningful local presence.
“Medi-Hub serves as a bridge connecting Cambodia with regional and international healthcare stakeholders. Our vision extends beyond medicine, hospitals, and pharmaceuticals. We are committed to fostering innovation by introducing cutting-edge medical technologies, digital health solutions, wellness innovations, and investment opportunities that will strengthen Cambodia’s healthcare ecosystem,” Eliza Yukiko Wong continues.
“As a consulting company, our role is not to operate hospitals or manufacture pharmaceuticals. Instead, we facilitate connections between international investors, healthcare innovators, policymakers, and Cambodian partners, creating pathways for foreign direct investment that support the country’s long-term healthcare and economic development,” she added.
Delivering the opening remarks, H.E. Prof. Sok Chour, Adviser to the Ministry of Health and Deputy Director General for Health, highlighted the growing significance of the Medi-Hub Summit as a platform for strengthening regional and global healthcare partnerships while inspiring innovative solutions to future health challenges.
“As we look toward the next decade, we find ourselves at the intersection of extraordinary technological capability and evolving societal needs. Building a future-ready healthcare system requires moving beyond local boundaries. It demands cross-border collaboration and robust knowledge exchange,” H.E. Prof. Sok Chour said.
Prof. Sok Chour also stressed that innovation must remain accessible to all citizens. “We must address a critical reality: medical innovation means very little if it is financially out of reach for our citizens. This is why sustainable healthcare financing and expanding insurance accessibility are absolute pillars of our long-term strategy.”
He further reaffirmed the royal government’s commitment to achieving universal health coverage (UHC).
“In line with the Royal Government’s UHC Roadmap, we are fully committed to achieving Universal Health Coverage by optimising the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and strengthening the Health Equity Fund (HEF). Through these mechanisms, we ensure that poor and vulnerable populations are never left behind and that advanced patient care becomes a protected national standard rather than a luxury.”
He added that over the coming decade, Cambodia must continue building frameworks where public institutions, private insurance providers, healthcare innovators, and investment groups work together to expand insurance coverage and ensure inclusive financial protection, making quality healthcare accessible to all.
The Medi-Hub Summit 2026 concluded with a shared commitment among participants to deepen collaboration, accelerate healthcare innovation, encourage investment, and strengthen healthcare delivery for communities in Cambodia and across Southeast Asia.
