Phnom Penh: On June 16, 2026 – To honour the 250th birthday of the United States, Chargé d’Affaires a. i. Benjamin Chiang presided over the grand opening of the Freedom 250 Founders Museum today at AmCam Exchange, located in Exchange Square Mall. Joining the Chargé for the ceremony were the guest of honour, H.E. Dr Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport.
The Founders Museum, a White House initiative, is an interactive educational exhibit that brings American history and culture to life. It features a curated collection highlighting the nation’s founders, pivotal historical events, and American heroes whose leadership and creativity continue to drive American innovation forward. Using modern technology to enrich the narrative, visitors can scan QR codes on their mobile devices to activate first-person animated videos of iconic Americans sharing their personal stories.
“We are thrilled to bring the Founders Museum exhibit to Cambodia as a core pillar of our Freedom 250 celebrations,” said Chargé d’Affaires Benjamin Chiang. “This exhibit offers a unique, engaging way for Cambodian audiences to explore the people and ideas that shaped the United States and learn how American excellence continues to inspire people around the world.”
The grand opening marks a major milestone in the U.S. Embassy’s ongoing Freedom 250 celebrations, showcasing American excellence, honouring American history, and celebrating the United States’ enduring achievements. The Founders Museum will remain on display at AmCam Exchange in Phnom Penh for two weeks before travelling to the U.S. Embassy’s other American Corners in Siem Reap, Battambang, and Kampong Cham.
