ICCR Scholarships under Mekong-Ganga Cooperation Scholarship and General Scholarship Scheme for Academic Year 2021-2022

The Embassy of India is pleased to announce that the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) of the Government of India is offering scholarships under the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation Scholarship Scheme (MGCSS) and General Scholarship Scheme (GSS) for meritorious Cambodian students desirous of pursuing Undergraduate, Post Graduate (Bachelors, Masters) and Ph.D. in Indian Universities from the Academic Year 2021-2022.

Interested and eligible candidates may register and apply online at the Scholarship portal: http://www.a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in/ with the required documents. Further details on the University list, different courses available, eligibility criteria, guidelines of application, financial terms and conditions, cities brief, frequently asked questions, etc. are available on the scholarship portal.  Students are advised to visit the University portal to ensure that they fulfill the required educational qualification and meet other criteria for the opted subject and submit all required certificates documents.

Students applying for scholarships should be between the age of 18 years to 30 Years and those applying for Ph.D. courses should be below the age of 45 years at the time of admission.

For Academic Year 2021-2022, a 500-word essay in English has been introduced to ascertain English Proficiency. Besides, students can also submit their TOFEL/IELTS, etc. Standardized Test scores, if available. Universities, Institutes will conduct interviews of the applicant online, if so required. There will be no separate English test by Embassy.  Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are compulsory in 11 and 12 grades of schooling for the candidates applying for B.Sc., B.E./B.Tech and is also a mandatory requirement for Engineering courses. Mark sheets for each i.e., level 10 and 10+2 level of school should be uploaded along with the transcripts in English. Candidates applying for Ph.D. courses would be required to submit a synopsis of the proposed area of research.  Candidates wishing to study performing arts need to enclose a Video, Audio clip, or YouTube link of their recorded performances.

The scholarships under MGCSS include return Economy class air ticket to the nearest airport and 3rd AC Train fare to the place of study, if required, in addition to Living Allowance and other facility given in the Financial Terms and Conditions.  It may also be noted that personal medical insurance (for Indian Rupees Five Lakhs, equivalent to USD6800 per annum) is mandatory for availing of ICCR’s scholarship.  The selected students must have medical insurance coverage on their own either before travel or immediately after reaching India, whatever is convenient.

Students can purchase medical insurance from any of the insurance companies of their choice. However, to facilitate students, A2A Portal has two insurance companies for referral purposes.  It is mandatory for all students selected for ICCR Scholarship to stay within the hostel provided by the University.  No student will be allowed to stay in private accommodation.

The last date of submission of the online application is 30th April 2021.
